Primary 6 & 7, Miss Keown

Welcome to our class page.

Snow much fun in P6/7!!

The children really enjoyed the snow that fell in Garrison recently and had so much fun making snowmen.

They were able to use the experience of building a snowman to write  excellent procedural writing reports.

Well done everyone!!

Have a look at our news reports the children created  this week.....

Blue Peter Book Awards

P6/7 children were honoured to be selected as one of the classes in the UK, tasked with reading the different books which have been nominated for the Blue Peter Book Awards. The children read the books and then submitted their reviews to the selection panal. The winners of the books were announced on World Book Day.

Odd Socks Day

The school council organised an event asking children to wear odd socks as part of anti bullying week.

In P6/7 we discussed what bullying is and what we can to eradicate bullying in schools.

Literacy: Recount writing

As part of our writing focus on recount writing, we recreated Stonehenge using clay and then wrote a recount of how we created it.

We also painted some wonderful autobiographies as part of our recount writing. It was so much fun to link Art with Literacy.

WAU: Bridges

We have been learning about all the different bridges around the world and how they are constructed. As part of STEM activities we worked in groups to build bridges.
